We thank God for having the privilege of participating with him in answering the prayers of 25 Internally Displaced Women in Kakuma, Kenya. They prayed for God's provision so that they could expand their chicken business (eggs) from 500 to 2000 chickens. They needed money to build a new coop to house the birds.
Thanks to IAFR's generous financial partners, we were able to give them what they needed earlier this year. And on our December 2017 visit to Kakuma, we had the honor of officially opening the doors of the new coop, built with help of our partner agency, National Council of Churches Kenya (NCCK). You can watch the ceremonial opening of the door and the dedication of the coop below (videoed with Facebook Live).
After assessing their funding, the women decided to reduce the projected number of chickens for their business from 2000 to 1500. This helped them stretch the funds to not only build the coop and purchase cages, but also purchase 1000 chickens along with initial feed and vaccinations. These ladies know what they're doing!
