Blown away

"The church of Nazarene of south Sudan was taken away by strong wind. Requested emergency help from URHC administration."
URHC, our refugee church partner in Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya, sent this message earlier today. As you can see, the church walls, and even pews, are made of mud. The damage means that this church not only needs a roof, but new walls as well.
The weather in Kakuma is brutal. Most days are under a blazing hot sun that not only heats from above, but warms the sandy soil and rocks so you get cooked from the ground up as well. Rains are seldom, but when they come, they often do a lot of damage. Churches like this one need a safe building within which they can meet and be protected from the elements.
That's why IAFR has a Refugee Church Building fund. It makes it possible for us to help our brothers and sisters in refugee camps in times of need.
I replied to our friends in Kakuma that we will see if there is a way for us to help rebuild this church. Please pray with us for God to provide what is needed so that this fellowship has a safe place to gather for worship.
IAFR supplies funding for building materials. The refugee churches do the heavy lifting. We estimate the cost of rebuilding this church to be about $1,500.
