Building churches

Oct 19, 2022

- Tom Albinson

Our refugee partner (URHC) toook us to visit several of the churches for which IAFR provided building materials - especially roofing materials. Two were in the host community and the other four we visited today were in the refugee camp.

This photo is of a church serving a small Turkana village called Nakwangat in the bush outside of Kakuma town. The pastor shared with me that they originally met for worship outside in the bush. They later met under the tree (photo). He expressed his thanks for those who made it possible to build this church.

Why does IAFR help with church buildings?

These churches are doing the critical work of strengthening community, faith, hope, and helping people heal from the deep inner wounds that are common in this challenging place.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed financially to help strengthen the churches here!
