Dedication

Celebrations are good for the soul - especially in places where there are often few reasons to celebrate.

Today, we joined with our refugee partner, United Host and Refugee Churches, to celebrate God's provision and dedicate three new classrooms on the campus of their Kakuma Interdenominational School of Mission (KISOM). IAFR funded the project that was implemented by our NGO partner, National Council of Churches Kenya (NCCK).

The gathering included URHC leadership, an engineer from NCCK, a local senior government official, refugee pastors, and representatives from a couple of local Christian radio stations.

Thanks was given to God and to all those who had a hand in making this dream come true.

The director of KISOM teared up a bit as he remembered a day back in 2011 or 2012 when he and other URHC leaders shared with me their dream of one day having their own building for KISOM. It is difficult to communicate how impossible this dream appeared back then. I remember him drawing the dream in the dust of a refugee church floor that day. I teared up too.

It was good to remember the story together today.
