- Rachel Uthmann
We will be hosting our next "Foundations of Refugee Ministry" training in Minnesota - June 25-29, 2023.
The goal of our training is to prepare Christians for fruitful and sustainable ministry among forcibly displaced people. After establishing a foundation of common language and the difficult reality faced by people who have fled their homes, we'll examine the following topics:
- What the Bible Says about Forcibly Displaced People
- IAFR's Continuum of Response
- Recovery and Integration Ministries
- Working in Humanitarian Space
- Faithful Christian Witness: When Evangelism Meets Aid
- Staying Healthy for the Long-Term in Refugee Ministry
- And more...
All of these conversations are focused on principles and best practices of refugee ministry, allowing you to apply them as needed in your context. Our training is highly interactive and limited to a small group size to ensure high-quality conversation.

The training will be held at a conference center 45 minutes from MSP airport. The cost is $950 per person (or $750 per person in a shared room, if available). This price includes the training content, use of the meeting space and grounds, all meals, and hotel-style lodging. Those who prefer to find their own lodging may come as day guests for a cost of $450 which includes lunch and dinner each day Sunday evening through Wednesday evening.
Who do you know who should be there? Help us spread the word!
At IAFR we believe God is calling the Church to engage in life-giving ways along the Refugee Highway and to do so with integrity and with an openness to learn. Our ministry must reflect the reality that God sees, hears, and cares about what is happening to each of the more than 100 million precious people who have been forced to flee their homes by violence and persecution.
