Meeting with Partners

I arrived in Nairobi hust before midnight yesterday. Our first and only day in the city starts with exchanging money and buying a SIM card and prepaid data for my travel router to help me get online while in Kakuma.
We then had a nice meeting with our primary partner NGO here - National Council of Churches Kenya (NCCK). We had an encouraging visit with the General Secretary and Program Manager (photo).
NCCK helps us with critical logistics for our visits to Kakuma refugee camp - loke getting our government permits to make it possible to enter and move freely in the camp and flights to/from Kakuma on the UN humanitarian airline (UNHAS). Once in Kakuma, NCCK provides us with rooms and meals in the NGO compound. They also provide a vehicle and driver to get us where we need to be.
NCCK has also partnered with us in the implementation of several big projects, including building the KISOM facilities, the borehole project that now provides about 70% of the water for people in Kakuma, and the building of shelters for internally displaced people.
This is complicated work and it takes partnerships like this to make it all happen.
