"Ukraine, other conflicts push forcibly displaced total over 100 million for first time"
Source: UN Refugee Agency, 23 May 2022
The UN reported this week that the world set a grim new record when it comes to the number of women, children, and men uprooted by war, persecution, and gross violations of human rights - 100 million people!
Forced displacement is among the defining issues of the 21st Century - and IAFR exists to serve the people directly affected by this reality.
We were established for such a time as this.
IAFR is a unique international Christian mission agency designed specifically to help refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced people survive and recover from forced displacement.
We need your support now more than ever.
PEOPLE
Please pray with us for qualified missionaries to join our team that wakes up every day looking for ways to strengthen hope and resilience and rehumanize those who have been uprooted.
FINANCIAL PARTNERS
Please pray with us for God to strengthen our Sustaining Fund so that we can increase the scope and impact of our work in the US and internationally.
A GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Please pray with us as we train and consult with churches, agencies, and individuals around the world, equipping them for life-giving ministry all along the refugee highway.
A call for healers and peacemakers
We are convinced that there is hope, even in the midst of this escalating crisis.
We who identify as Christians are called to partner with Jesus in the restoration of all things. We are called to be healers and peacemakers - communities of people empowered by God to actively restore harmony to a world filled with violence and suffering.
The world needs us to show up in life-giving ways today.
While our hearts break over this record setting number of refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced people, our lament cannot lead us to despair or inaction. We are people of faith, hope, and love. The world needs us to show up in life-giving ways now more than ever.
Jesus has demonstrated God's determination to save us from ourselves. Hatred, violence, war, suffering, and death will not get the last word. Love and Life will overcome as surely as Jesus rose from the grave.
May God show each of us how we can partner with him in both big and small ways to turn things around and set us all on a life-giving course.
