Refugee Church Leaders
Oct 14, 2022

What's the first thing I did after arriving at Kakuma refugee camp today?
We met with the leaders of United Refugee and Host Churches (URHC) - the refugee church association with which we partner to review their expectations and plan for our visit together.
The table around which we met (photo) included pastors and church leaders from Sudan (Nubian), D.R. Congo, Kenya (Turkana), America, and Greece.
Our schedule will include theological training, consulting sessions related to training cirriculum development, discussions concerning creating a program that will help women with income generation to be better able to feed their children, and an afternoon of trauma care related training.
A highlight will be Sunday morning as our team of four splits up to worship with different churches in the camp and surrounding host community.
It's going to be a good week with our brothers and sisters here.
