What's in a building?

What happens when a building is more than a building? The answer many times is inspiration, hope, and celebration. IAFR has been partnering with refugee churches in Dzaleka to help with church construction needs for many years. We do so because we see what a safe, secure, functional building does not only for the members of the church, but for the wider community as well.
We have seen church buildings in Dzaleka used for temporary housing of new refugee arrivals, language classes, elementary schools, food distribution centers, and more. These buildings are counseling centers, community meeting places, and they are used every day of the week for worship and church life. Seeing a church building go up has often inspired new efforts and encouraged church leadership teams. Its true in this case, a building really is more than a building.
