Jesus is the Answer

In a world where millions are forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, and gross violations of human rights, the message of hope and love that Jesus brings is more important than ever.
We are dedicated to embodying this message by providing essential support and care to refugees around the globe.
Tamrat had to run for his life.
Tamrat had to run for his life. Persecution forced him to flee his homeland. He found a way to the US and asked for asylum. Like other asylum seekers, he received no assistance from the government for many months. His greatest challenge was to find stable housing.
Though he is highly educated and legally allowed to be present in the U.S. while his asylum case is being decided, Tamrat wasn’t legally allowed to work. With no means to provide for himself and his housing situation coming to an end, Tamrat didn’t know what to do. He was close to despair.
That's when IAFR’s Jonathan House welcomed him in.
"For me finding Jonathan House is God's provision. I wonder sometimes if I hadn't come here whether I'd still be alive. You are my brothers and sisters since I left my family back home.”
IAFR is committed to following the example of Jesus by walking alongside of those who have been forcibly displaced, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and spiritual care.
We are inspired by the well-known story Jesus told about the Good Samaritan (Luke 10), that asks the question, “Which of the three men was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”
The answer is both obvious and profound. “The one who had mercy on him.”
This is where we all come into the story. By supporting IAFR, we are following the Samaritan’s example.
Like the man on the roadside, refugees have endured great suffering and are living with toxic stress and uncertainty. Together, we are showing up in the lives of people like Tamrat - in ways that overcome despair and strengthen hope. Together, we are providing safety, shelter, education, and healthcare to those who have lost everything.
Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of refugees as we affirm their dignity and worth, while helping them survive and rebuild their lives.
